TREMITHOUSA VILLAGE
Tremithousa, or Trimithousa, is a small traditional Cypriot village located 4km North West of Paphos Town and is 150m-500m above sea level. It is situated in an elevated position between mountains and sea, thus giving rise to panoramic views over the Paphos area. Tremithousa takes its name from the terebinth tree which grows in abundance in this locality; the resin from this tree is used to make Pafitiki Pissa - Paphian Chewing Gum. It is harvested from the trunk of the Pistacia terebinthus tree and contains no sugar or other additives. This entirely natural product has been proven to be beneficial to the digestive system. Tremithousa is interspersed with many small mountain streams and springs which provide irrigation to the walnut and almond groves, citrus orchards and vegetable crops and is also noted for the fragrant honey it produces. All essential amenities can be found within the village, including tavernas, small shops and banking facilities and, with Paphos Town just a few minutes drive down the hill, it is ideally placed for permanent residency or holiday occupation. Tremithousa village provides an ideal location for access to other surrounding villages, towns, beaches and all types of leisure facilities. To search for available properties click here.
